Familia Sagrada, Barcelona, Spain, 2007 - Page 1
A quick overview of La Sagrada Família (courtesy of Wikipedia) -- La Sagrada Família (Catalan, 'The Holy Family') is a large Roman Catholic basilica under construction in Barcelona, Spain.Aside from the absolutely amazing architecture, the highlight of our visit to La Sagrada Família is the views of Barcelona high up from the towers. The twelve towers are between 90 meters to 112 meters high and represent the 12 apostles. A word of warning, you pay about 2 euros to take the elevator up to the top (which is actually maybe about 3/4 of the way up) but you must take the stairs down. I did not count but I am told it is about 350 steps back down -- which is like descending the stairs on a 20 story building. The walk back down, thru the towers winding and narrow stairs, is a little challenging.
