That Battery - Charged or not? (Productivity Tips) (2007/12/03)

Some quick productivity tips I have learned this week...

That Battery - Charged or not?

Do you use a lot of rechargeable batteries?

A simple trick to keep them organized is to wrap up the charged batteries with an elastic band -- ready for the next use.

Opening Clamshell Packs (Productivity Tips) (2007/12/03)

Some quick productivity tips I have learned this week...

Opening Clamshell Packs without Major Injuries.

Too many things come packaged in those stubborn plastic blister pack or clamshell packaging. More often than not, I will manage to cut myself on the sharp plastic edges as I cut open the package. Gloves and a box cutter have worked for me as long as I am careful.

So the short answer - use a can opener instead.

I tried this with a manual can opener and it worked great.

An electric can opener will work too.

Organizing Desk Drawers (Productivity Tips) (2007/12/03)

Some quick productivity tips I have learned this week...

Organizing Desk Drawers

I have a lot of things in my desk drawers such as elastic bands or extra twist ties.

I found a simple way to keep the drawers a little more organized. I keep stuff in resealable sandwich bags and toss the bags in the drawer.

Just open the drawer and take a look in. The bags are large enough to easily spot what you are after.

DVD's - Skipping the Previews Quickly (Productivity Tips) (2007/12/03)

Some quick productivity tips I have learned this week...

DVD's - Skipping the Previews Quickly

If you want to skip the previews and menu (or if you have lost your remote), just put the DVD in, wait for something to come up on the screen, and press STOP-STOP-PLAY on the DVD player.

The movie will start playing right away.

This works on most DVD players.
